Match Day 2011

Today was a momentous occasion for our family; it was Match Day! For those that might be unfamiliar with what Match Day is, it is the day when Medical School graduates get their assignments for residency. During the fall, Justin traveled over 13,000 miles and went on 15 interviews at different anesthesiology residency programs across the country. Well, today we found out that we will be moving to....

A shot of the "gang" . (Thanks Grandpa for taking this picture!) All of our families were able to drive and be with us on this special day!

Justin and Addie went forward to get our envelope. This envelope held the news of our new hometown....which is.....

Just thought I'd make you wait like we had too!

We are moving to Baltimore (Johns Hopkins- Sinai Hospital) for Justin's 1st year and then on to Birmingham (University of Alabama at Birmingham) to finish out the last 3 years of residency! These were our top picks!

We have a LOT to do over the next few months, but we know that the Lord has directed this move for us and are ready and excited to follow through. More to come!

Getting That Moving Feeling

As many of you know, we are finishing up medical school and are preparing to move for Justin's residency. We've already started packing up the non-essentials, and apparently Addie has gotten into the spirit of packing! On Saturday, I was in the kitchen cleaning up after breakfast and noticed that Addie was diligently and quietly playing in her room. I went to go check on her and noticed this..her "train" with all of her toys. She said she was moving to Hobby Lobby..haha.. and didn't want to leave any of her stuff. She's going to be a great helper with this move!

She did a very thorough job of packing up!

Happy Birthday Rylin!

On Saturday, Addie and I made the quick trip down to Valdosta for her friend, Rylin's 3rd Birthday. It was at a stable where the kids were able to ride horses. We had talked all week about seeing and riding the horses. When we arrived, she was ready to go. I was a bit afraid that she would approach them timidly, but she went up to the horse, gently petted him, and climbed up the saddle. She rode around once with just me holding her and then rode around several times with Rylin. It was a tremendously fun day, and we look forward to riding some more in the future!

I have never ridden on a horse, so I was excited to try it out too! (Brooke, I posted this just for you! Haha!) Don't you love my English riding hat?

The girls eating a yummy lunch of hot dogs and Cheetos. Every 3 year old knows you can't have a party without Cheetos! :)

Valentine's Day Party

Thursday, February 10th
We had Addie's Valentine's Day party today! (We are partied out with her birthday being so close to V-tine's.) Each child got a sugar cookie and was allowed to decorate it with icing and sprinkles. Addie pretty much just ate the icing and left the cookie - smart girl! Haha! She really loves her friends, and I am so thankful for her preschool.

School Party

Tuesday, February 8th

On Tuesday, we celebrated Addie's birthday at her preschool(it was also pajama day). I brought some strawberry muffins, grapes, and cheese. Her little classmates were so cute...when I came to the door, they all said, "Hey Addie's Mommy!" It's official, I've lost my identity - but I wouldn't have it any other way! :)

Happy Birthday Sweet Girl!

"Underneath my Mother's heart, waiting for nativity,I never was so tiny, but what God's eyes could see. And long before my ears could hear,He called me by my name; there, in the darkness He watched me grow. Watched His creation, for long before my birthday God was celebrating me -He knows the very moment when my life came to be. And from the time He gave me life He watched me tenderly. For, long before my birthday God was loving me!"

3rd Birthday

Today we celebrated Addie's 3rd birthday at the Macon Children's Museum. She was so excited to celebrate with her family and friends!

Addie, Gigi, Rylin, and Mr. Robbie looking at a house of clues.

Playing in the Russian log house with Mrs. Megan and Knox.

Checking out a display with Mimi.

The present table.

Sitting down ready for some food!

The cake before we started singing. Justin made it, and it was fabulous! It was a six layer strawberry cake with fondant polka dots. We teased that he shouldn't have gone to medical school but culinary school!

Happy Birthday sweet girl! (Like her dress? Tata made it for her! Another amazing creation from "Threads by Tata"!)

Opening presents while Knox and Karsyn look on.

Our thoughtful girl "reading" the card before opening her presents.

Delighted by her new tutu! Just look at that face!

Addie got her very first doll house, and I don't know who is more excited, me or her!

Our tired girl after the party.

The finished project! Justin and I set it up and played with it while Addie was taking her nap! Haha!
