Easter Eggs with Daddy

Today was one of those wonderful days where all of us could be home together! Since Justin has had such a horrible schedule this past week, it was a real treat to spend time with him. He decided to do an art project with Addie while I got to do some much needed chores! He showed her how to boil and decorate eggs for Easter. He is such an "eggcellent" teacher, and he kept Addie interested in this project for over an hour!

Daddy showing her how it's done!

Smiling for the camera - well, what she thinks smiling is!

Addie trying her hand at it.

Getting down to business.

"Addie, are you having a good time?" I think this face says it all!

School Easter Egg Hunt

This past Thursday, Addie's preschool had an Easter Egg Hunt and party. Addie and I talked about it all week, as I tried to tell her and show her what she was going to be doing. (She doesn't remember her egg hunt last year!) I made her a little egg shirt and made some yummies for the party. My parents were even able to take the morning off and come since Justin couldn't get away from his surgery rotation at the hospital.
The morning of the hunt, we took her little class to meet the Easter Bunny; needless to say, she was not very interested and quite timid. I looked at her and thought how much she was like me when I was little. I too was afraid of anyone in a costume. However, she did admire him from afar and would jabber on and on about her bunnies at home.
When it came time for the hunt, Addie picked up her little basket and was ready to find some eggs. My dad and I would spot an egg, call out the color, and Addie would be quick behind to scoop it up and put it in her basket. I was so proud of her! She found a dozen or more eggs! You go Addie!
We journey back to their little classroom for a special snack and left with full tummies and baskets.
Addie peering around the tree looking for more eggs.
Believe it or not, there is an egg under there!
She was willing to go the distance!
About to lose some of those eggs! She actually did dump a few out, but was quick to recover them!
Addie and her classmates (isn't it rare to get four 2-year olds to all sit still for a picture? Not sure how we did it!)

Cherry Blossom Festival

I apologize for not blogging in over a month!! So not like me; however, I didn't figure you would enjoy reading about all of my work that I've had to do and the sniffles and sneezes we've been unfortunate to have. Despite my crazy schedule lately, I took a little time off on Wednesday morning to take Addie to Central City Park to enjoy some of the Cherry Blossom Festivities. I am ashamed to say that after living here for 3 years, I've never been. Addie really enjoyed seeing the Sea Lion show as well as all of the rides and pink ice cream, but she felt more in her element when she found the playground. I was only able to take a few pictures at the start, since it is quite hard to take pictures when it's just you and a 2 year old!
